Bringing You Every Event Gay Cork Has to Offer
There is a whole world of exciting events and social gatherings happening in gay Cork right throughout the year. While there are also some excellent gay bars, Cork also offers a range of interesting opportunities for LGBT people who just want to get together and socialise with people of like mind in another setting. Whether it’s taking part in regular activities to keep fit or more sedate ventures like film nights or casual meetups, you’ll be able to find whatever gay or lesbian Cork event that’s going on.

That’s what GayToDo is all about, providing the only one-stop-shop you need for all gay Cork events as well as those right around the country. LGBT Cork Groups
There are also a host of great club and social groups arranging LGBT Cork events right throughout the year.
The Cork City LGBT Inter Agency Group are the organisers of Cork LGBT Awareness Week. This event and those associated with the group seek to celebrate the intersectionality within the broader society and history of LGBT Cork. Last year the event was on the theme “Cork: A Republic of Equals” and extended its remit to a celebration of the recognition of Traveller Ethnicity in Cork Traveller Pride Week.
For a wide range of events, both social and supportive in nature, the Cork Gay Community Development Company is a great resource. Having grown from a collection of social and political initiatives the group has been at the centre of gay Cork life since the 1980s. LGBT Cork events include support groups, movie, game and open mic nights and youth group get-togethers.
For bisexual and lesbian Cork women, LINC provides resources, support, training and outreach to the area. This includes various events supporting health and information drives, as well as activities like boxing and drama open to all bi and lesbian Cork women.
Cork Rebels FC is a football and social group set up for the LGBT Cork community. It is perfect for any gay Cork people who are looking for a social outlet beyond the usual pressures of gay dating. Cork is renowned for its sporting prowess and football is just one of the many fields in which the county excels.
Running since 2010, Choral Con Fusion, is the place for the gay Cork community and indeed everyone to exercise their vocal chords in an enjoyable and rewarding social setting. The group has pursued a community-bridging “inclusive” model, so members are welcome no matter their level of musical ability or being straight or LGBT. Cork is thus graced by various excellent choral performances throughout the year.
The LGBT – Everybody and Anybody – Cork group is a diverse platform for gay Cork people who want to meet up for whatever reason they fancy. A relaxed alternative to the gay bars Cork scene, LGBT Cork people get together for activities such as film nights and theatre trips as well as coffee and dinner meet-ups.
Vixen’s Rainbow is a group for LGBT Cork women with diverse interests and desires for socialising. It is a fun and active community alternative to the lesbian Cork dating scene with different tastes being catered for. Events include going bowling, introductory get-togethers and dinner evenings.
The pinnacle of gay Cork events is Cork Pride which takes place every summer. The festival takes place over the space of a week with many different LGBT Cork groups and those from further afield taking part. It is a great way to get involved in the gay Cork scene, whatever your interests. The overall theme changes each year but expect a mix of open, exciting and thought-provoking events such as cabaret nights, a gay village in Cork city centre, as well as coming out events and remembrance evenings. The centre piece is of course the parade through the city, celebrating all things unique and special about gay Cork life and indeed about all people everywhere.
Running since the 1980s, the Cork Women’s Fun Weekend, is a lesbian Cork event that takes place over a summer weekend (usually the May Bank Holiday but in 2018 it will be in June). Activities include live music, a 5-a-side tournament, a communal cook-up and more. It’s a great event for meeting up with old friends and new for any LGBT Cork women and those from around the country.
The UP Cork LGBT Youth Project is the result of an amalgamation between a gay Cork youth group and a lesbian Cork youth group. It was set up to provide a space offering gay Cork young people opportunities to have their voices heard and actively participate in conversations concerning their own and societal issues. As well as meeting weekly, providing one-to-one and group support, the group organises events such as games nights, sporting activities and cultural day trips in the surrounding area.
